Parents can pick from disposable and washable swim diapers to buy. The two have their advantages and disadvantages but I personally suggest using the reusables.
The reason I favor reusable swim diapers is they are much cheaper in the long run though the initial expense may seem huge. In fact your infant will need only two or three washable swim diapers so you can change them if there has been a poo accident.
You can machine wash them with other clothes and towels. I wouldn't recommend that you put your baby in a regular cloth diaper cover. More or less it will do the same work but the chlorine in the water will damage the fabric.
If you hate the thought of washing a soiled diaper than you should go for the disposable alternative. Disposable swim diapers come in packs as regular and you throw them away after each use. I wouldn't advise using a sposie more than once though it can outlive a couple of laundry cycles.
The downside of using disposable swim diapers is they will need more space in your bag and they are quite high priced.
When you go shopping for swim diapers you should keep some essential checkpoints in your mind.
A great swim diaper should be comfortable, easy to put on and pull off when soiled and should be made of a soft fabric that won't give your infant a rash. My advice is to choose an adjustable swimming diaper, there are options with Velcro, snaps and strings so it fits snugly the baby's body.
Both reusable and disposable swimming diapers have a great assortment of colors and models to choose from. Particularly if you have a baby girl you may find it hard to choose only one or two as they are so cute.
